Nationwide Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Nationwide
Overview
Nationwide, together with the National Association of Counties (NACo), aims to encourage high school seniors to begin saving for retirement early. As part of that effort, Nationwide will award four scholarships of $2,500 each to qualifying graduating seniors whose parent, grandparent, or legal guardian participates in the NACo Deferred Compensation 457 program. This initiative builds on the long-standing partnership between Nationwide and NACo to support retirement planning for county employees and their families.
Who may apply
- Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and legal residents of the United States.
- The applicant’s parent, grandparent, or legal guardian must be an active participant in an employee-funded NACo Deferred Compensation 457(b) Plan.
- Scholarship winners must enroll full time at an accredited trade school, or a two- or four-year college, no later than the autumn term of the 2026–2027 academic year.
- The following are not eligible to apply: immediate family members of NACo employees; members of the NACo Defined Contribution and Retirement Advisory Committee or members of NACo’s governing board of directors; staff of any state Association of Counties that are LLC members; and Nationwide employees. This scholarship program is only available within the United States.
Selection process and use of entries
- A joint review panel made up of associates from Nationwide and NACo will evaluate all submissions. Recipients will be selected primarily on the strength and content of their entries.
- All entries become the property of Nationwide and may be used for educational or marketing purposes; Nationwide will credit the original author when such use occurs.
