Alaska Engineering Education Foundation Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Alaska Engineering Education Foundation
Introduction
The Alaska Engineering Education Foundation (AEEF), together with individual and corporate donors, funds the AEEF Scholarship Program. AEEF manages scholarships on behalf of local engineering groups and committees, including the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers (ASPE), the American Society of Civil Engineers Mat-Su Branch, and Anchorage E-Week. AEEF’s mission is to regularly provide scholarship support for students pursuing college studies in engineering and related math/science fields.
Who is eligible
High school seniors who plan to pursue an engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program are eligible to apply. Scholarships are distributed both statewide and regionally (Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau, and the Matanuska-Susitna Borough). By submitting a single application, applicants will be considered for multiple awards.
Award amounts and types
- AEEF currently awards roughly $30,000 in scholarships statewide each year. Individual awards typically range from about $500 to more than $4,000.
- Scholarships you will be considered for with one application:
- One AEEF Scholarship of $2,000 (open to all statewide applicants).
- One ASPE Scholarship of $1,500 (open to all statewide applicants).
- One or more ASPE Regional Engineering Week (E-Week) scholarships; the number and size of these awards depend on fundraising in each region (Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks). Anchorage E-Week will distribute scholarships in two separate regions determined by graduating enrollment by school district.

Complete instructions and a list of the materials required to finish the online application are available in the Scholarship Application Guidelines. All required documents must be uploaded or emailed to the appropriate regional contact by the deadline listed below.

Payment and conditions
Scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s college or university financial aid office. Recipients must enroll in an ABET-accredited engineering program at their chosen institution. This includes students who attend colleges that require completing freshman and sophomore core coursework before entering an ABET-designated engineering program as juniors. If a recipient does not enroll in an ABET-accredited engineering program within three years of receiving the award, the scholarship may be forfeited.
