Caltrans Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 6
Caltrans District 6 (Central Region) announces the 20th Annual Caltrans Scholarships for 2026. Seniors graduating from high schools in Fresno, Madera, Kings, Kern, or Tulare counties are invited to apply.
Scholarship awards
- Eleven (11) scholarships will be awarded, each worth $1,500.
- Eight (8) Caltrans District 6 / Central Region Transportation Scholarships — open to graduating high school students planning to pursue a transportation-related career; each recipient will receive $1,500.
- Three (3) Caltrans District 6 / Central Region Employee Family Scholarships — reserved for graduating high school students who are related to a current, former, or retired Caltrans District 6 employee and who plan to enter a transportation-related field; each award is $1,500.
Application deadline
- Completed applications must be submitted by March 27, 2026.
Eligibility and selection criteria
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Be a graduating high school senior from Caltrans District 6 (Central Region), which includes Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, or Tulare counties.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Intend to enroll at a university, community/junior college, or trade school.
- Plan to pursue a career in a transportation-related area. Accepted fields include, but are not limited to: Accounting; Anthropology; Archaeology; Animal or Plant Biology; Business Administration; Communications; Construction; Electrical Engineering; Environmental Science; Equipment Operations; Graphic Design; Human Resources; Information Technology; Landscape Architecture; Legal; Planning; Project Management; Real Estate; Surveying; or other related transportation disciplines.
