Bev and Wes Stock Scholarship — Seattle Mariners Women’s Club
Overview
Each year the Seattle Mariners Women’s Club awards the Bev and Wes Stock Scholarship to a graduating high school senior from Washington state who plans to pursue an athletic-related career at an accredited college or university in the upcoming academic year.
Eligibility
- Graduating high school senior
- Resident of the state of Washington
- Planning to enroll at an accredited college or university next academic year
- Intending to follow an athletic-related career path
Application requirements
Applicants must submit a written statement addressing the following points:
1. Why they are applying for this scholarship.
2. Their extracurricular involvement, including jobs, volunteer activities, and similar commitments.
3. Intended goals to be achieved during college and following graduation.
4. How receiving the scholarship would benefit them.
Academic record
- Provide an official transcript showing grades through at least the first semester or the second trimester of the senior year.
Recommendations
- Submit three letters of recommendation from any combination of the following sources:
- High school counselor
- Team coach
- Director or head of an organization where the student volunteers
- Employer
- Other reliable individual familiar with the student’s activities, goals, and personal qualities
