Michigan Council of Women in Technology Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Michigan Council of Women in Technology
Introduction
MCWT awards scholarships to women who demonstrate interest, aptitude, and promise for careers in computer science and related technology fields. The program is supported by a broad coalition of partner companies and individual donors who champion a more diverse tech ecosystem in Michigan. Our goal is to encourage talented female students—both high school seniors and current college/university students—to pursue higher education and help Michigan become the leading state for girls and women in technology.
Who should apply
We provide financial support to women pursuing technology-related degrees. Awards are available to high school seniors planning to enroll and to students already attending Michigan colleges and universities at the associate, undergraduate, or graduate level.
Award details and recipient support
- Annual scholarship and grant amounts range from $2,000 to $5,000, and many awards may be renewed in subsequent years.
- MCWT involvement or participation is taken into account but is not a requirement for selection.
- Recipients receive more than financial aid: each scholar is paired with a leadership mentor during the award period and is supported in locating internship opportunities.
Program impact
- In 2025, the MCWT scholar cohort consisted of 43 awardees representing 17 colleges and universities across Michigan.
