Introduction Thank you for your interest in the 2026 25th Infantry Division Association (25th IDA) Scholarship. The application form is now available as a PDF. Please review the eligibility rules and application requirements below to confirm you qualify before applying. Purpose The Association may award individual educational scholarships each year from the 25th Infantry Division Association Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to deserving students. Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must meet one of the following: - Be a child or grandchild of an active Association member who has held membership for at least 12 months immediately before the application is submitted. - Be the son or daughter of a former 25th Infantry Division member who was killed in action while serving with the Division or who later died as a result of those combat-related wounds. Application deadline - Applications must be postmarked no later than March 13, 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. Enrollment requirement - Applicants must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a college, university, or accredited trade school and must carry at least 12 semester hours per term. Required application materials (complete applications only) Provide all of the following for your application to be considered: 1. A personal letter from the applicant outlining future goals, the need for financial assistance, and involvement in school and community activities. Include any military-related activities or experience. 2. Academic transcript: - If you are a high school senior: a transcript showing credits through the first semester of your senior year, including class rank. - If you are in your second or later year of postsecondary study or trade school: a transcript of post–high school coursework. 3. Proof of acceptance to the school you plan to attend, or a list of institutions to which you have applied. Note: awards will not be issued until acceptance is confirmed. 4. Two letters of recommendation: - One from a respected community member. - One from someone who interacts with you regularly (for example, a teacher, coach, pastor, or school administrator). Both letters should speak to your dedication and enthusiasm for your goals. 5. A color, full-face head-and-shoulders photograph (used only for publicity if you win). The photo should not exceed 3 × 4 inches. 6. Documentation of the relative’s service: a copy of the parent’s or grandparent’s DD-214 or other official evidence showing service in the U.S. Army and assignment to the 25th Infantry Division. Selection process and timeline - Applications will be reviewed during March by the Scholarship Committee, which will submit its recommendations to the Association’s Executive Committee. - The Executive Committee will make final award decisions and notify the Association President. - Award recipients will be informed by the Association President before the end of the academic year.
