In 2001 we created the Leo Bourassa Scholarship to advance our mission by providing annual financial support to students pursuing studies connected to water resources. The award honors Leo Bourassa, the founder of the Virginia Lakes and Watersheds Association.

This scholarship honors MES founder Dick Pierce, who died in 2011. It recognizes his lifelong dedication to expanding access to higher education. The MES Foundation Board of Directors sets the annual number and award amounts.
